Art on the Farm- Early May Camping

Art on the Farm

For the first time, we are very excited to offer camping on our farm during the weekends of May. This will be part of the wonderful Art in Ditchling trail.

Art on the Farm, Food and Drink

The Ditchling Art Trail is a wonderful event that takes you around the village of Ditchling, visiting the incredible Artists that reside here.

The village really does come alive during this unique and brilliantly unusual event, with many of the artists exhibiting in their own homes. You can meet the incredible artists face to face, and spend some time talking to them about their work and inspirations- a perfect thing to take part in during your stay with us.

‘Art on the Farm’ is our very own exhibit, which we are incredibly excited about. Not only will we have a local school exhibiting in our Old Chook Shed, but our venue will be interactive. This means that every child who camps with us will be given a free canvas to draw a picture on. This will then be put on the walls of our Old Chook Shed and become part of the art trail. We would love people to take inspiration from anywhere on the farm as well as the wonderful nature that surrounds us.

However, it is not all about the art! On both the Saturday and Sunday of your stay, we will welcome a different street food van so that you can grab yourselves some delicious lunch. Our Mac Shack bar will be open serving you locally produced gin, fizz, ales and cider as well as a range of other alcoholic, soft and hot drinks. We will also welcome some local musicians for you to listen to whilst you tuck in.

Deano’s Snake Shack will be also be open, offering activities and a chance to meet his incredible array of reptiles (please note that there will be an additional charge for this activity that goes towards the care of these animals).

Please note that the May, Art on the Farm camping experience is slightly different to a regular camping weekend here on the farm. The Mac Shack will not be open on Friday and Saturday evenings, but during Saturday and Sunday daytime instead.

We can’t wait to be a part of this special art trail and look forward to seeing you all soon for a fun filled stay.

Camping with us in May

Your stay will be in Little Owl Field. This is named after the little owls that live at the bottom part of the farm.

The field has 30 pitches and is a beautiful space surrounded by grass and trees. It is perfect for anyone who is looking for a relaxed feel and ideal for groups of families and friends who want to get away together.

There are plenty of fire pits dotted for you to use. Whether you use it to cook your fresh eggs in the morning, toast your marshmallows at night or just use it to keep warm with your family as the sun goes down- you just can’t beat it.

Little Owl Field is completely car free. Campers use our unloading area to pile their bits and bobs into one of our wheelbarrows before taking it over to their pitch. This makes our camping fields safe for kids (and adults) to run until their heart is content. It also keeps the fields looking beautiful.

We have covered space in the form of one of old chicken sheds, so that you can shelter from the rain (or sun) with your family and friends. It is equipped with tables and chairs for you to use. Please note that this is where our Art on the Farm event will be taking place.

We have built a beautiful, toilet and shower block with washing up facilities and a small fridge in our old stable block for you to use during your stay.
