Beekeeping Taster Session

Whether you are planning to get your own hives or you are just curious about honeybees, this is a perfect chilled-out introduction to bee keeping with our friendly Macs bee keeper.

Price: £70 per person. Car parking included.

Minimum Age: 18 years. 

Meet At: Our activity meeting point at least 10 minutes before your session is due to start. If you are not camping with us, please allow 20 minutes to walk our farm trail from the car park to the activity meeting point.

Hive inspection*

A taste of this years honey

* Please note that it is not possible to open hives in the rain. Protective bee suits and smocks are provided. Please bring in your own wellies or boots and long socks, wear long trousers such as jeans and a long-sleeved top.

Honeybees are usually calm if they are handled properly. Nether the less, beekeeping very occasionally involves getting stung. So we respectfully ask anyone who has a history of allergic reactions to stings not to join in the hive inspection and please note you will be required to sign a disclaimer form prior to inspections.

We have plenty on site to keep your fed and watered!

Whilst you are here, take a wander through the farm to out Nest Box Barn & Mac Shack.

Mac Shack: Delicious sourdough sandwiches and sweet crepes, made with our very own organic eggs. (Subject to opening times)

The Nest Box: Locally produced soft & alcoholic drinks, draught beer, local, scooped ice cream and homemade cakes.

Please note that only food & drink purchased on site can be consumed on the farm, you cannot bring in your own.

Please use postcode BN6 8TL, which will take you to our camping entrance on Common Lane.

Please park in our visitor car park. From here you will be required to walk to your activity meeting point, where one of our activity team will meet you.
